I find myself getting irritable and not feeling well much of the time. On visiting the local hospital I was given medications which didn’t help much. In fact within the past couple of years, due to improved video equipment, we don’t have to look through the laparoscope instead do the surgery by looking at the greatly magnified pictures on the monitor that is send through a sophisticated video camera along with the laparoscope. The surgery would take about an hour and a half on an average and you will be able to be up and about and then out of the hospital by next morning.”
Further the doctor explained about the major reason for low complication rate for laparoscopic hysterectomy which is magnification and hence there is a little chance of injury to the neighboring organs such as ureters, intestines and bladder. The blood clot and pulmonary complications are reduced as the patient is able to be up and around soon after the surgery.
As per the doctor, the fibroid removal surgery was successful. I was in a bit of pain post surgery but was given pain medications for it. I had to stay at the hospital for a couple of days. I felt just fine and was able to get in and out of bed myself within a couple of weeks.
I thanked God after reflecting my decision to improve my quality of life. I am thankful to my husband, mother and family who have been by my side throughout my entire journey.
